Mom passed away September 1st, 2008 after a long 8-year battle with Leiomyosarcoma. After 4 years of surgery and chemotheropy the doctors had all but given up hope, but not our mother. When most would have hung their head that all was lost, she began to search on the internet for experimental drugs. With the help of her family and her faith in Jesus Christ, she began to find doors being opened for her.
She traveled to Maryland and New York for some of these trials. She never once showed discouragement. Only faith in her Lord would help her and lead her through any valley. After another 3 years of trials and experimental drugs her body was tired. Years of chemo and trails had taken its toll. In the fall of 2007 she felt her road had come to and end. When once more she had another door opened that lead her to Baltimore, Maryland. In January 2008 she would under go a 13-hour surgery to rid her body of the four masses in her abdomen. The largest mass was so complicated they could only remove that one.
This is the strongest person I have ever known and she was an inspiration to her family and everyone she came in contact with. She loved her family and her grandchildren more than anything in the world.
The world will be less bright without her smile.
